From 4d01cd257e2bce4434f768b37c19f2701c5dd339 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Manuel Nickschas Date: Sat, 7 Jun 2008 03:36:31 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] Fix static building (on Linux at least). Besides using a statically built Qt (and pointing to it using -DQT=/path/to/qt), you need to pass -DSTATIC=1 to cmake to enable proper linking. It also makes sense to put static versions of libstdc++ and openssl into ${BUILD_DIR}/staticlibs. NOTE that ${BUILD_DIR} is the dir you run cmake from, NOT the source dir. --- CMakeLists.txt | 14 ++++++++++++-- 1 file changed, 12 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/CMakeLists.txt b/CMakeLists.txt index 0bbc7184..ba26f2b1 100644 --- a/CMakeLists.txt +++ b/CMakeLists.txt @@ -3,7 +3,10 @@ # -DBUILD= : Select binaries to build. may contain any combination # of "core", "client", "mono" or "all". # -DQT=/path/to/qt : Choose a Qt4 installation to use instead of the system Qt4 +# -DSTATIC=1 : Enable static building of Quassel, most useful with a static Qt. # -DSPUTDEV : Do not use. +# +# NOTE: You need to remove CMakeCache.txt if you plan to change any of these values! project(QuasselIRC) @@ -42,7 +45,7 @@ endif(BUILD MATCHES all) if(DEFINED QT) # FindQt4 will look for the qmake binary in $PATH, so we just prepend the Qt dir set(ENV{PATH} ${QT}/bin:$ENV{PATH}) - SET(QT_QMAKE_EXECUTABLE ${QT}/bin/qmake CACHE FILEPATH "" FORCE) + #SET(QT_QMAKE_EXECUTABLE ${QT}/bin/qmake CACHE FILEPATH "" FORCE) endif(DEFINED QT) # Enable mostly b0rked stuff (new ChatView), do not enable this unless you know what you do... @@ -74,6 +77,12 @@ qt4_add_resources(RES_I18N ${CMAKE_SOURCE_DIR}/i18n/i18n.qrc) qt4_add_resources(RES_ICONS ${CMAKE_SOURCE_DIR}/src/icons/icons.qrc) qt4_add_resources(RES_SQL ${CMAKE_SOURCE_DIR}/src/core/sql.qrc) +# Set global buildflags +if(DEFINED STATIC) + set(CMAKE_EXE_LINKER_FLAGS "-static-libgcc ${CMAKE_EXE_LINKER_FLAGS}") + link_directories(${CMAKE_BINARY_DIR}/staticlibs) +endif(DEFINED STATIC) + # Here comes the dirty part.
